This is an exciting opportunity to join an award-winning practice with over 20 years in the industry. We are a passionate team of architects (many conservation accredited). We pride ourselves on work that is thoughtful, practical, sustainable and beautiful for old and new buildings. Our recent urban and rural projects include cathedrals, churches, country houses, homes, estate buildings and landscape structures.

We are seeking a fully qualified architect or surveyor to lead projects through all work stages on buildings of varying size and complexity. It is an exciting time to join our team, with projects in progress at significant sites in London, Bristol and Oxfordshire.

ARB registered Architects and / or Conservation Surveyors with several years’ post RIBA part III experience or equivalent are invited to apply for this full-time, permanent role in Upper Heyford, Oxfordshire. 

• Candidates must have varied experience at independently running projects at all RIBA works stages, confidently managing project communications with clients, stakeholders and contractors. 
• Candidates should have excellent design skills, with demonstrable interest in both historic buildings and new design.
• Being open minded and encouraging collaboration in project teams is critical for successful project delivery. Candidates should be confident in taking initiative and ownership of tasks, including project resource management. 
• CAD ability is necessary, with skills in Vectorworks, SketchUp, Adobe Suite and Microsoft Office required. A capacity to sketch and draw freehand is also desirable.
• Excellent technical knowledge of construction, compliance with industry standards (BRPD, CDM PD, H&S) , Building Regulations and JCT contract administration is required.
• Experience of producing high quality condition surveys of historic buildings and diagnosing complex fabric issues is desirable.
• AABC and / or RIBA SCA accreditation is desirable.

The practice was formed in 2006 by Nick Cox who has over 30 years’ experience working on historic buildings. We lead change at heritage sites, providing strategic advice, high-end conservation and sensitive new design within complex settings. We nurture longstanding relationships with clients and craftspeople, who share our enjoyment of the historic places we care for.  

Current projects include condition surveys, repairs and conservation, new buildings, adaptive reuse and extensions for Listed buildings, Scheduled Ancient Monuments, and landscape features. Our work is creative, with collaborative problem solving and craftsmanship at the heart of what we do.
