Country Estate, Surrey - Extension and refurbishment

Listing Status: Grade II Listed building, Grade II Listed Park and Garden,

Located within an area of: Green belt land, Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB), Area of Great Landscape Value (AGLV), Biodiversity Opportunity Area (BOA), Area of High Archaeological Potential (AHAP).

NCA were initially commissioned to undertake a feasibility study into how the day-to-day residential areas to the rear of the building could be refurbished, altered and extended to create an open plan living, kitchen and dining area more suited to the needs of modern day living. 

The area directly to the rear of the house had a steep incline within the landscape which meant that areas to the rear of the house were poorly lit and lacked useable garden areas. The proposed scheme involved extensive relandscaping in addition to the design of a contemporary extension to the Grade II Listed building. 

NCA developed sketch proposals into successful Planning and Listed Building Consent drawings. NCA acted as lead consultant throughout the project, co-ordinating input from various consultants. Phase 1 of the project covered the groundworks and this has now been successfully completed.
